COVID originated in Wuhan, China in late 2019. Wuhan was locked down on January 23, 2020, a futile attempt to stop the spread. The first US COVID cases were reported February 15, and the first US deaths were a week later. The original SARS virus, also originating in China, killed fewer than 100 people in 2003. SARS2/COVID 19, one of the worst natural killers in history, killed millions.
Officially, there is still doubt about COVID’s origin, whether it was a natural event, a lab accident, or a deliberate conspiracy.

Yet well into the fourth year of the Covid-19 pandemic, intense political and scientific debates about its origins continue. The two major hypotheses are a natural zoonotic spillover, most likely occurring at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, and a laboratory leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
However, experts never told the whole story. The record was distorted by public health officials like Dr. Fauci. President Trump spoke of a potential lab leak from the onset while Dr. Fauci insisted the pandemic was a natural event. COIVD’s origin became a political football during the 2020 presidential campaign; advocating the the lab leak theory meant siding with President Trump and Republicans against Dr. Fauci and Democrats. The truth is whatever it is. We should not prefer political allies over the truth.
Dr. Fauci vs. President Trump
We should have been able to rely on Dr. Fauci during this crisis. Initially, President Trump probably did not know how intimately his advisor was connected to Wuhan, EcoHealth alliance, and questionable gain of function research, but throughout 2020 and 2021, we realized there were problems with his consul. Dr. Fauci was wrong about everything:
- lockdowns (they never worked for an extended period, yet Dr. Fauci remained unwavering in his insistence on them)
- masks (he was against them at first and then for them; they may have worked for a few individuals, but they never worked on a mass scale)
- vaccines (they have proven marginally effective, were never a good solution for children and young adults, and have created more problems than they solved)
- COVID treatments (Ivermectin has been an effective treatment but was trash talked in favor of vaccines which are not a treatment at all).
Dr. Fauci took dogmatic positions and never adjusted his views despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. He acted not simply as subject matter expert, but made himself a political decision maker given his new-found prominence as the head of the COVID task force. He was on TV constantly, propped up by media as a foil to President Trump. He extended his role far beyond what it ever should have been. He vehemently denied he was a political actor, but he clearly was. He may have been a good doctor at some point, but he was a lousy politician, a poor decision maker, and a disaster for the country.
I have written of COVID extensively the last four years. During those years, I have struggled to understand why this man with so much experience and knowledge was wrong so often. He knows far more about medicine than I do, but his recommendations have been consistently wrong. If we connect the dots now, we see it was not so much his failure of judgment, but a cover-up that led us down this awful path.
Gain of Function
Gain of function was a term most of us were introduced to in 2020. It seems a extremely dubious, nefarious process. Why anyone would engage in such activity? From Wikipedia:
Gain-of-function research (GoF research or GoFR) is medical research that genetically alters an organism in a way that may enhance the biological functions of gene products. This may include an altered pathogenesis, transmissibility, or host range, i.e., the types of hosts that a microorganism can infect.
In virology, gain-of-function research is usually employed with the intention of better understanding current and future pandemics.[4] In vaccine development, gain-of-function research is conducted in the hope of gaining a head start on a virus and being able to develop a vaccine or therapeutic before it emerges.[4] The term “gain of function” is sometimes applied more narrowly to refer to “research which could enable a pandemic-potential pathogen to replicate more quickly or cause more harm in humans or other closely-related mammals.
Dr. Fauci claimed it has legitimate uses. Altering pathogens, making them replicate more quickly, causing more harm in humans, etc. sounds like creating a biological weapon, something associated with a Bond movie villain. This research was banned in the US by the Obama administration in 2014.

In a newly resurfaced paper from 2012, Dr. Anthony Fauci argued that the benefits of gain-of-function research are worth the increased risk of a potential pandemic-causing lab accident.

In an unlikely but conceivable turn of events, what if that scientist becomes infected with the virus, which leads to an outbreak and ultimately triggers a pandemic? Many ask reasonable questions: given the possibility of such a scenario – however remote – should the initial experiments have been performed and/or published in the first place, and what were the processes involved in this decision?
Scientists working in this field might say – as indeed I have said – that the benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks. It is more likely that a pandemic would occur in nature, and the need to stay ahead of such a threat is a primary reason for performing an experiment that might appear to be risky.
Dr. Fauci’s response to the ban was to move research overseas, so by 2019, we have the American and Chinese governments via EcoHealth Alliance collaborating in gain of function research in Wuhan. What the h—?
A new document released by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus reveals that Anthony Fauci knew that gain-of-function research was occurring in Wuhan, China, prior to the global spread of COVID-19.
In an email to U.S. government public health officials in February 2020, Fauci wrote that “scientists in the Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments … associated with bat viruses adapting to human infection,” according to an image of the document tweeted by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus. The email reveals that Fauci knew of the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s research into coronaviruses that mirrored COVID-19 prior to his claim that there was no evidence that the virus was produced in a laboratory.
As the pandemic spread, Dr. Fauci acknowledged privately the Wuhan Institute was conducting highly suspect gain-of-function research with bat viruses in the midst of the virus epicenter. Yet, he tells Americans publicly the most likely explanation is a natural occurring virus. A spokesman for Dr. Fauci says he has been “entirely truthful,” but a new letter belatedly acknowledging the National Institutes of Health’s support for virus-enhancing research adds more heat to the ongoing debate over whether a lab leak could have sparked the pandemic.
This leads to the 64-million dollar question: why did NIH and Dr. Fauci fund gain-of-function research in China, research that probably led to one of the worst pandemics in history? What is the point of creating a “gain-of-function” virus?
SARS-CoV-2 is an American-created recombinant bat vaccine, or its precursor virus. It was created by an EcoHealth Alliance program at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), as suggested by the reporting surrounding the lab leak hypothesis. The details of this program have been concealed since the pandemic began. These details can be found in the EcoHealth Alliance proposal response to the DARPA PREEMPT program Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) HR00118S0017, dated March 2018 – a document not yet publicly disclosed.
DARPA rejected the proposal because the work was too close to violating the gain-of-function (GoF) moratorium, despite what Peter Daszak says in the proposal (that the work would not). As is known, Dr. Fauci with NIAID did not reject the proposal. The work took place at the WIV and at several sites in the US, identified in detail in the proposal.
Do We Need a Smoking Gun?
We learned more shocking details during Congressional testimony in May 2024. Dr. David Morens, a senior advisor in NIH and colleague of Dr. Fauci, spoke of making emails disappear:
Like Dr. Morens, I work for the government myself. I have never spoken with anyone about “making emails disappear”. I wouldn’t ever consider such action. Every email I send or receive from my government account is saved in a repository I have no access to. It is a security violation for an employee to alter or hide such an official record.
Per the communication above, Dr. Morens, along with Tony (Fauci) and Peter (Daszak) are concerned about information falling into the hands of the “enemy”, the enemy being media attempting to inform the public regarding COVID. Since when has our public health establishment become a repository of national secrets? Since when do public health establishments create enemy lists?
Dr. Morens should have been fired for these comments, yet, during testimony to Congress, he dismissed his comment regarding the FOIA lady “as a joke”. If only it were just a joke.
Dr. Morens also says he will delete any email he doesn’t want “seen in the New York Times”– another bad joke.
Dr. Morens claims to be smart enough to avoid FOIA probes and to not leave behind smoking guns, but he and his cabal appear foolish enough to orchestrate the release of virus which killed millions and caused panic around the world. We can now better understand why Dr. Fauci did what he did. He was wrong so often because he couldn’t tell the truth; he is covering up his own complicity.
Why would our government be hiding information “relating to origin”.
Again, “Tony” who Dr. Morens appears to be so chummy with is Dr. Tony Fauci, the man who told us our evidenced based suspicions about a laboratory origin were all wrong, the man who was continually on TV pretending to tell all he knows about COVID, except, of course, all the stuff he doesn’t want us to know.
To summarize:
- COVID began in Wuhan, China where the American government was funding gain-of-function research previously banned by the American government.
- Bat viruses were manipulated at the Wuhan Institute.
- Dr. Morens assured the Eco-Health Alliance president and his boss Dr. Fauci that FOIA requests will not uncover well hidden smoking guns, specifically anything related to the COVID-19 origin.
- Bats are not native to Wuhan and are not sold in the wet market.
- Dr. Fauci concluded and vigorously defended the notion COVID sprang up in a Wuhan wet market, not in the Wuhan Institute where risky and forbidden gain-of-function research was conducted.
We will never know what the incriminating emails actually contained. It is illegal, not to mention unethical, to avoid information requests by destroying emails. The circumstantial case against our own public health establishment in the release of COVID is overwhelming, yet Morens, Fauci, Collins, Daszak, and others smugly insist there was nothing amiss here. Who do they think they are?
There is not a comprehensive theory which neatly explains the origins of COVID, but why this cloak and dagger act from Dr. Morens regarding research in Wuhan? How deeply was the American government involved in this fiasco?
Dr. David Morens, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) senior adviser, appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on Wednesday afternoon with few insights about the alarming messages but a host of apologies to lawmakers. The newly released emails detail interactions between Morens and Dr. Peter Daszak, president of the EcoHealth Alliance, a non-governmental organization that funded coronavirus research in Wuhan, China.
A fitting addendum to this Shakespearian tragedy is to ask Dr. Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, the villain who directly collaborated with the Chinese government to create new corona viruses in Wuhan, conduct the investigation into what might have gone wrong in Wuhan. Perhaps this is not just a tragedy, but a comedy as well?
What Was the Point?
Creation of a man-made virus requires a vaccine to combat it. Developing the virus and the vaccines together was apparently the new novel way to conduct medical research. Should we thank those who brought us the vaccine which saved us from this deadly pandemic or damn them for orchestrating this awful sequence of events?
Stanford’s Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, interviewed by Steve Deace 47:56 offered his theory of what happened.
It went badly, badly wrong . . . What we did during this pandemic failed so badly . . . failed policy response . . . insane guidance that had nothing to do with the reality of the scientific literature.
The pandemic was launched as a misguided idea– Utopian idea–that we can go into the wild places, find every single pathogen, predict which ones are going to make the jump, and then stockpile vaccines, and all other treatments . . . They go to the bat caves of China, bring the viruses into the lab . . . They do experiments in leaky labs, very dangerous experiments, that very likely caused the pandemic.
Dr. Bhattacharya does not mince words as he blames Dr. Fauci personally for unleashing this virus and opening Pandora’s box. Once the pandemic was upon us, Dr. Fauci was intent on compelling us all to take the vaccine to save his and his colleagues’ reputations. The response: vaccines, lockdowns, etc. was not about science it was about his own reputation and his own legacy.
Dr. Bhattacharya also highlights the need to bring in other actors to protect Dr. Fauci and his can’t-shoot-straight gang:
They engaged a lot of people in the pharmaceutical industry: deputized them to produce the vaccine, immunized them against any liability, and then promised them literally billions and billions of dollars.
Dr. Peter McCullough, another highly credentialed MD, was also interviewed by Deace 1:17:39.
The vaccines so highly touted by Dr. Fauci “are creating more and more resistant strains,” McCullough says. The vaccines preload the body with spike proteins. Excessive spike protein load causes problems for the vaccinated and when they contract COVID, the problems are magnified: gigantic blood clots, heart damage, myocarditis, stroke, a-fib, and more. The vaccines, he says, are more problematic than COVID itself. His fear is various cancers will develop from all these vaccines and boosters.
Dr. McCullough talks also about this dangerous experiment that was projected onto us:
Making a virus more infectious in order to come up with a vaccine . . . that is the marketing plan of this bio-pharmaceutical complex. Daszak said this before COVID in writing in various forms . . . More papers have been written that we have to do gain-of-function research, so that we can get to vaccines . . . the reason to create SARS2/COVID-19 is to get to the vaccines.
. . . and make massive profits for those who provided the vaccine.
The Vaccine Did Not Save Us
I have collected enough statistics and testimony regarding COVID to write a book. Here is a whirlwind retrospective on the problem with COVID vaccines.
In Summer 2021, the FDA issued a myocarditis warning for mRNA vaccines. Why didn’t we notice the FDA warning?
A new study published by JAMA Pediatrics found adolescents were seven times more likely to be hospitalized for myocarditis after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
V-SAFE, a CDC program which allowed volunteers to report on vaccination problems directly to the CDC. About ten million patients registered with V-SAFE during vaccination. The CDC revealed more than 7% registered reported problems to the CDC via V-SAFE. 782,900 people reported seeking medical assistance, emergency care and/or hospitalization following the Covid-19 injection. Another 2.5 million people reported missing work, school or normal everyday activities because of a health event after receiving a Covid-19 injection. These V-SAFE results coincide with a similar finding from a Rasmussen study:
This translates to 18 million Americans experiencing major vaccine side effects, many of them probably not even aware of what caused problems.
Excess deaths around the world (deaths beyond the normal expected value) understandably spiked in 2020 with COVID. Yet, as COVID diminished and vaccines ramped up excess deaths remained high. We reverted back to the mean only in 2024 (when few are getting the vaccine).
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) excess deaths are highest among the 15-44 age group. A younger demographic, not hard hit by COVID, has the biggest increase. Is this not alarming?
The nation watched as a Buffalo Bills player collapsed on field during a Monday Night game, yet nobody provided a clear explanation of what happened. A great many other young athletes who did not have immediate assistance died (VSAFE-Rising-Excess-Deaths-and-Athletes-Collapsing ). These injuries were not unheard of before COVID mRNA vaccines, but have become far more frequent since 2021. Some injuries, I have no doubt, are from COVID vaccines. Dr. Fauci does not want to discuss this notion.
Dr. Campbell discussed a study from Swiss cardiologists: 1 in 35 (2.9%) vaccinated individuals had a vaccine associated myocardial injury. Median age in the study is 37 (i.e. it is not a study heavily weighted in the older demographics). One in 45 Britons have atrial fibrillation or irregular heartbeat while 1 in 35 boosted individuals have a vaccine associated myocardial (heart muscle) injury. Dr. Campbell, says a 2.9% risk is “off the scale”. That 2.9% is for a single risk factor. What about other risk factors?
I am dumbfounded our government attempted to mandate vaccines for government employees and then for employees of large to mid-sized business. They also recommended children, who are not at risk, be vaccinated starting at six months. These policies made no sense.
Like Dr. Bhattacharya and Dr. McCullough referenced earlier, Dr. Martin links the actions of Moderna, CDC, NAIAD, Dr. Fauci, and Pfizer over the last 30 years; he claims their goal (for the last sixty years) was to develop a vaccine for an engineered virus, and once that virus was released reap the profits.
Many doctors with impressive credentials have made these claims. There is no other conclusion that fits the fact pattern that defied explanation for so long.
A Manhattan Project
I have known healthy individuals who have unexpectedly contracted unexplainable and severe medical symptoms. I don’t know if their injuries were from COVID vaccines, but there are too many such instances to avoid speculation.
Former CNN anchor, Chris Cuomo recently claimed he was injured as well. Cuomo supported his brother’s (former governor of New York) effort to mandate vaccines and save the country. Why did his perspective change?
Dr. Campbell interviewed a woman who received a COVID vaccine November 2020 during a Phase III AstraZeneca trial. Potential side effects, she was told, were extremely rare. Her trouble started immediately after injections, within an hour.

Later that night she had night blurred vision/double vision and then more symptoms the next day. She stopped working the day after. More symptoms developed the following days, too many awful symptoms to list. Four years later, she still has symptoms; they are continual. She was diagnosed with post-vaccine neuropathy. These symptoms were life threatening; luckily, she and her husband had medical training so recognized how to address and manage symptoms.
Dr. Campbell says “it the worst adverse reaction” he has ever heard of. There are countless others who have had problems. He says we need “a Manhattan project to attack this”.
This woman’s current treatment is $3500 every two weeks (for life), not including hospitalization and countless doctor bills, yet AstraZeneca offered her a pittance for her trouble.
Yes, we need a Manhattan project to address vaccine problems and to hold all those responsible accountable for the extensive harm they caused.
We can’t correct these problems if the public continues to ignore them. Too many believe the truth must be hidden, so we do not discover how negligent drug companies were and how complicit our government was in allowing their negligence.
