The period between Election Day 2024 and Inauguration Day two-and-a-half months later was remarkably calm and uneventful. On January 6, 2025, no states were contested in Congress. This was the first time since 1988 (when President George H.W. Bush defeated Governor Michael Dukakis) that Democrats failed to contest a Republican presidential victory.

Most Americans seem unaware (or unconcerned) the practice of challenging presidential elections did not start with President Trump in 2020. Democrats incessantly harped about Trump’s claims of election fraud while hoping the public had forgotten similar claims they made in 2016. However, in 2016, there was an equally bitter and equally large group of Democrats complaining of a stolen election. The 2020 stolen election rhetoric was not unique in the least.

“You can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you,” she [Hillary Clinton] said to cheers on the Los Angeles stop of her “Evening with the Clintons” tour with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
Hillary Clinton spent the entire four years complaining to any sympathetic media outlet willing to listen to her lament. There was much head nodding from sycophantic journalists. Many of the most prominent Democrat politicians also backed her claims, including President Biden, President Carter, VP Harris, and numerous U.S. Senators and Representatives.

There was a widespread understanding that this election was not on the level. We still don’t know what really happened. I mean, there is just a lot that will be revealed, history will discover, but you don’t win by three million votes and have all this other shenanigan stuff going on and not come away with an idea like whoa something is not right here.

On January 6, 2017, Democrats objected to the votes from nine states on the floor of the U.S. House:
- Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) objected to Alabama’s votes.
- Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) objected to Florida’s votes.
- Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) objected to Georgia’s votes.
- Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) objected to North Carolina’s votes.
- Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) objected to North Carolina, South Carolina and Wisconsin votes. She also spoke of “massive voter suppression” after Mississippi’s votes were announced.
- Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) objected to Michigan’s votes.
- Maxine Waters (D-Calif) objected to Wyoming’s votes.

In 2020, only six states were contested: Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, three fewer than in 2016: https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-democrats-object-more-states-2016-republicans-2020-1561407
There were also prolonged Democrat objections to the 2000 election of President Bush and his 2004 re-election. The taint that Bush was an illegitimate president lasted the entirety of his presidency.
We actually won the last presidential election, folks. They stole the last presidential election. Former Virginia Governor (and Democrat National Committee Chair), Terry McAullife
There is no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was elected president. Former President Jimmy Carter
By the time it was over, our candidate had won the popular vote and the only way they could win the election was to stop the voting in Florida. Former President Bill Clinton.
During the 2000 election, Florida was made a laughingstock as they struggled to determine the actual recipients of votes. Should we count that ballot with the “hanging chad” or not? It took a month to finally certify Florida. The claim was that the Supreme Court awarded the victory to President Bush without allowing a full state recount. However, Bush was ahead after the first official count (by 537 votes) and he remained ahead by similar margins during numerous (partial) recounts that followed. January 6, 2001, the state of Florida was contested in Congress, establishing a modern precedent that would be repeated three times more: by Democrats in 2005 and 2017 and by Republicans in 2021.
After the 2004 election:
George W. Bush received 286 electoral votes, including 20 from Ohio, a state he won by around 118,000 votes over John Kerry.
Senator Barbara Boxer explained, “Our intent was not to overturn the election in any way. Our intent was to focus on voter suppression in Ohio.”
Given this backdrop, it is remarkable the 2024 transition from Biden to Trump had no fireworks. There were no protests in the street. There were no claims of illegitimacy from Harris or supporters. There were no apparent shenanigans to speak of. This was supposed to be a tumultuous transition, but it was not. What happened?
Why the Calm?

All of 2024, I anticipated civil unrest following the election. The nation appears too fractured along political lines; neither side can tolerate the other in control. I was certain the losing side, whoever it might be, would claim the other cheated and say we had installed an illegitimate president; this had been the pattern four of the six prior elections (the only exceptions were 2008 and 2012 when Obama was elected). Nothing indicated calm on the horizon. When Trump was elected, I braced for more Hitler rhetoric and the countless phobia charges. Yet, one-channel media and Democrat politicians have toned down the rhetoric so far.
The lack of tumult must mean America is not so divided as we had feared. That division is meaningful for one-channel media and politicians, but not so much for “normie” Americans. The election results have also demonstrated the continual rhetoric regarding the dangers of January 6, Republicans, and President Trump did not sell among the “normies”.

In the first few days of the Trump Administration, Democrats transferred their ire to another target: Elon Musk. He is yet another once-in-a-century re-incarnation of Hitler (the line of candidates nominated by Democrats for this role has grown ridiculously long). Musk raised his arm when reaching out to a crowd during a recent rally, and for a desperate one-channel media that gesture can only mean he is channeling Hitler.

Thankfully, this nonsensical narrative hasn’t gained traction. Why would the Trump Administration send not-so-secret signals in this way? Why wouldn’t Trump send the message himself? How are his faithful followers to interpret these signals? I know plenty of Trump voters and none of us are waiting for such a signal. Everyone missed Musk’s supposed signal in any case. We prefer more direct messages. Besides, it is simple to find numerous other public figures making the exact same gesture. The gesture means nothing unless accompanied by commensurate action.
Still, Democrats played the January 6, 2021 narrative effectively. This was a grand opportunity to tarnish Republicans. Republicans were already on the defensive and embarrassed by what happened. It was not a manufactured event like the Trump/Russia collusion, not one that could be easily dismissed. Most Republicans even agreed with a portion (a small portion albeit) of the Democrat narrative (although they didn’t initially fathom how high the volume would be set to). J6 was supposedly one of the worst events in American history. It was indeed shocking and the violence which occurred should not be condoned, but the charges of “worst ever”, “insurrection”, or “end of democracy” never fit.

Democrats had a relentless game plan: media bombardment, lining up countless public figures, staying on message for four long years, along with mustering numerous government institutions and the Justice Department to attack political opponents, including an actual conviction of President Trump, one that they believed would destroy his re-election chances. They religiously stuck to the game plan. However, it was only an event to be molded to the narrative, not anything close to “worst ever”.

If “worst ever” were true, Democrats wouldn’t abandon the narrative so quickly following the election. The truth should always stand on its own. If Trump were truly Hitler, Democrat party leaders wouldn’t be caught dead in a photo op with him, much less engaging in friendly chatter. You don’t abandon the truth for another narrative simply because it doesn’t play well. You abandon the narrative because it was never true to begin with.
Still, the Democrats had some success. Occasionally, I engage “normies” steeped in these disgraced Democrat narratives. Because I allow for wiggle room in describing the events of January 6, 2021 and because I have legitimate concerns regarding 2020 election fraud, I am labeled a liar, a hypocrite, a white supremacist, a Nazi, a homophobe, a misogynist, etc. by folks I may have met just fifteen minutes earlier. I enjoy debate with those who disagree with me, but these zealots cannot be reasoned with; they follow the script provided by one-channel media, never abandoning the narrative. There is no point to discussions with such narrow-minded folks.
There are probably millions of such folks scattered about. Thankfully, the 2024 election made clear there are far more who rejected this con. In the four years since January 6, 2021, Trump’s popularity grew significantly. His 2024 results were markedly better than 2020. In 2024, he received just shy of half of all votes cast (49.8%), roughly 2.3 million more than his primary rival.

Trump finished with three million more votes than 2020. Meanwhile, Harris fell six million votes short of Biden’s 2020 total (an unfathomable and not really believable 81 million votes). This is the microcosm of the election: slightly fewer votes were registered in 2024; Trump expanded his base while Harris shrunk the Democrat base.
House Republicans won more than half the vote (50.56%) as well, outperforming Democrats by more than four million votes. In fact, Republicans increased their margins in every state but one in 2024.

These vote totals include a vast number of Independents, who outnumber those registered with either of the main parties.
Conclusion: the narratives did not achieve their goal. The numbers make it clear: most of the voters didn’t buy the notions Republicans and Trump are all racists and that January 6 was the end of democracy.

Democrat activists who successfully conned (brainwashed?) millions are shocked the man they demonized more than any politician in memory, was somehow re-elected. They see the return on investment for their narrative was not so good. They are realizing they cannot keep emphasizing that low yield narrative. They were also wise enough to know they could not stage their own January 6 protest without being lampooned as hypocrites (the hypocrisy is apparent already, but they do not want to disillusion the true believers).
Democrats are leaving behind true believers (the zealous “normies” who cannot be reasoned with), those who cling to the old grift while their puppet masters search for a new grift. The new grift will be trotted out soon, no doubt. They must find a new one or the party will die. The old grift is dead. Long live the new grift.
Will Democrats learn any important lessons from all this? They should fully acknowledge the screed that Republicans are predominately racists, sexists, homophobes, election deniers, vaccine deniers, etc. was never accurate and is highly divisive. A majority of voters recognize their grift, but Democrats must prop up the old façade (for the sake of those still clinging to it) while they move on to the next grift.

“So, I’m going to have a show of hands. How many of you believe that racism and misogyny played a role in Vice President Harris’ defeat?” Capehart asked the contenders.
All eight of the contenders, including former Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland, state Democratic Party chairmen Ben Wikler of Wisconsin and Ken Martin of Minnesota, former Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, and former Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, raised their hands in response.
“Okay. So… That’s good, you all passed,” Capehart said.
No. They ALL failed. They are just unwilling to admit it.
Some 2024 Fishy Results
In 2016, Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by a combined 80,000 votes in three swing states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. If Clinton had received another twenty or thirty thousand votes in each of these states, she could have eked out a win. In 2020, margins were even tighter. Biden defeated Trump by a combined 40,000 votes in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia. Trump only needed few thousand more votes in each of these states to eke out a win. Both elections were very tight. Naturally losers questioned what might have (or should have) been.

However, 2024 was very different. In 2024, only one of the seven pre-defined swing states, Wisconsin, could be considered “close”. Trump won Wisconsin by 0.8%, roughly 30,000 votes. He won all other swing states by 1.4% or more, some by more than 5%. Contesting Wisconsin alone would not be enough to swing the election back to Harris. There was no legitimate pathway to changing the outcome.
However, there were still questionable results this time around. We were just focused on the wrong outcome.

Nine days after election day, November 14, California had counted just 86% of the vote. Four house races in California were still undecided. Washington and Oregon also had not finished counting nine days out, having counted 93% and 90% respectively.
We used to have election day, but now we have election month.
Two California house races were called after ten days of counting. Two more were still pending.

As the days passed, California’s vote totals increased roughly a few hundred thousand each day. Eleven days after the election: California had counted 89% of the vote. Oregon was still stuck at 90%, and Washington at 94%. Two weeks after the election, California had counted 15.4 million in the presidential race (91%). They had another 500,000 uncounted votes. Why did they dawdle?
Lake County, California takes the prize for the most tardy. Twenty-two days after the election, November 27, they had counted 59%. States are required to certify results by December 12.

The last two California U.S. House races were decided December 3. Republicans had leads throughout November until races flipped to the Democrat in early December. Democratic challenger Adam Gray flips California’s 13th Congressional District in nation’s final House race | Fox News
Democrat Adam Gray has won California’s 13th Congressional District race by a mere 187 votes, defeating incumbent Republican Rep. John Duarte, according to The Associated Press.
California’s 13th Congressional District was the last seat to be called, with the district being one of the most competitive races in the Golden State.
Where do state officials find the final few votes four weeks after election day? Do they have opportunity and motive to nefariously alter the tally? This situation should give us all pause regarding the integrity of our elections.
Nevada also dawdled and the same turn of events occurred there as well. The Nevada Senate race shifted from the Republican to the Democrat the last day of counting. Trump comfortably won Nevada, but Democrats won all but one of the state’s Congressional races.

Lengthy delays naturally lead to doubts regarding results. How hard is it to manufacture votes when you know who hasn’t voted and just enough of ballots from quiescent voters can be turned in weeks later? Florida and Texas each counted roughly 11 million votes in less than a day. Why can’t all states?
In the Pennsylvania Senate race, Democrats attempted to count mail-in votes without valid dates; they were twice rebuffed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court:
pa-supreme-court-again-rules-that-philly-and-other-counties-cannot-count-undated-ballots
The 4-3 ruling, which was requested by the Republican Party and opposed by Casey’s campaign, followed moves by elections officials in Democratic-controlled counties — including Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery — to have the ballots counted despite the high court instructing them to exclude those votes earlier in the year. The ruling applies to all counties.
Democrats in those counties and elsewhere have pushed to include mail ballots with defects related to the dates voters are required to write on them because the dates are not used by election administrators to determine whether ballots are legitimate. Instead, they only count ballots that are received between when the ballots are distributed and Election Day, making it impossible for a vote to be counted outside of that time frame regardless of what date a voter writes on the ballot.
Why did they need to be told a second time after they had already lost the pre-election motion? Another Pennsylvania woman, a member of the Left leaning “New Pennsylvania Project” tried to make up Casey’s deficit all on her own:
pa-woman-charged-trying-register-dead-people-including-own-father
A Pennsylvania woman was arrested on felony forgery, public records tampering and voter registration-related charges based on allegations she tried to fraudulently register dead people, including her own father, to vote in the 2024 election.
Jennifer Hill, from the Chester area, was arrested Thursday and accused of attempting to add four ineligible individuals to the voter rolls, including her late father.
Delaware County’s Democratic district attorney, Jack Stollsteimer, said in public remarks that Hill used an app to register 324 people as a staffer for a group called the New Pennsylvania Project.
My liberal friends said in 2020: elections are not perfect, but they are about as good as they have ever been. I am not so sanguine. There are too many loopholes dishonest brokers can drive a truck through. Trust in our voting system is vital to holding the two opposing political parties and the nation as a whole together. We must be able to trust that our votes count, so we can influence policies we oppose and have hope for real change. We must fix these election irregularities or our democracy is truly in jeopardy.
