March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday, coincided with transgender visibility day. The White House Press Secretary stressed it was merely a coincidence the two days overlapped this year. Yes, that’s correct, but it is not out-of-bounds to wonder if the proximity to Easter is by design.
Since the new transgender observance day was established in 2009, it has overlapped with Easter twice (in 2013 and 2024). Other years, this day coincides with other holy days: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday or the Easter Octave (the eight days beginning with Easter Sunday). It is almost always smack dab in the midst of the Christian Easter season (as well as Passover and Ramadan). Why is that?
The new secular religion (progressivism) needs its holy days, and co-opting a competing religion’s holy days is an effective counter. The Al-Axa mosque in Jerusalem was built on the site of the Solomon’s Temple; St. Peter’s basilica was built at the center of anti-Christian persecution in ancient times, and in the 21st Century, transgender days are replacing other religious holidays.
In 1999, President Bill Clinton declared June gay pride month. There has been a proliferation of commemorative LGBTQ days in the twenty-five years since. LGBTQ days now far outnumber religious holidays.
President Biden, of course, emphasized observance of transgender visibility day this year.
Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation. Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families or running businesses, they help America thrive. They deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves.
The White House released an Easter message as well. They had much less to say about Easter than they did for transgenders. Are they proselytizing us into their own religion?
Are We a Christian Nation?
Many today bristle at the notion America was or still is a Christian nation. There is little doubt our nation was founded on Christian (Western) values, but today, the progressive secularists compete with Christians for ascendancy in America. Secularists cannot tolerate Christians intolerance of deviant sexual behavior, a centerpiece of the progressive religion. Our nation’s increasing tolerance for gay pride, gay marriage, transgenderism, and a myriad other forms of sexual expression coincides with the decline in traditional religions the last twenty-five years. USA Church membership held steady between 1940 and 2000, but declined precipitously since the formal recognition of gay pride.

Contemporary churches seek to bolster membership by bringing the LGBTQ back into the fold, but they often water down their own principles and acknowledge gay pride. This will not reverse the trend. Media now openly mocks Christians and attempts to discredit their views. They are emboldened because the religious are now a minority. The reporter below cannot understand the hesitancy to embrace transgenderism. She asks why Christians trust God than more than Congress or the Supreme Court.
“The thing that unites them as Christian nationalists – not Christians, by the way, because Christian nationalist is very different – is that they believe that our rights as Americans, as all human beings, don’t come from any earthly authority. They don’t come from Congress, they don’t come from the Supreme Court. They come from God. The problem with that is that they are determining- man, men, it is men are determining what God is telling them,” Przybyla said.
“And in the past, that so-called natural law is, you know, it’s a pillar of Catholicism, for instance. It has been used for good in social justice campaigns, Martin Luther King evoked it in talking about civil rights, but now you have an extremist element of conservative Christians who say that this applies specifically to issues including abortion, gay marriage, and it’s going much further than that,” she continued, before citing the Alabama Supreme Court ruling on IVF.
Should we accept the Supreme Court’s view of gay marriage or should we accept God’s? If you doubt God’s existence, you might reasonably conclude man determines God’s law, but otherwise this is a simple proposition. No faithful believer says God’s law is a human invention and that rights originate from anyone other than an immutable and omnipotent God.
Rights may be affirmed by, but they are never established by ephemeral and often suspect earthly authorities. The United States has been a paragon of protecting American (and many others’) rights, yet virtually everyone–religious and non-religious–recognizes our country has, at times, widely missed the mark. In the 1857 Dred Scott decision, the Supreme Court found a right for Americans to hold slaves. Stephen Douglas, Illinois Senator and Democrat presidential candidate supported the right of states to determine whether or not slavery should be legal. In the 1896 Plessy vs. Ferguson decision the Supreme Court upheld racial segregation. In 1927, the Supreme Court determined forced sterilization should be legal. In 1944, the court backed the Roosevelt Administration’s policy on the interment of Japanese Americans.
Who today agrees with any of these decisions, once supported by many American citizens? So, why does this woman scoff at those who place God’s law above any other? Nothing else makes sense. Even the best of human systems fail us. She disagrees with Christianity’s view of sex, but Christian views on morality have remained steadfast for thousands of years and have not bounced between poles as has our country’s views on many moral issues.
LGBTQ days have been around for twenty-five years. How long will they last? How long until we revert back to the Christian view of morality, the one that somehow seems to persist civilization after civilization?

In 1973, the Roe v. Wade decision legalized the murder of children. We still haven’t, as a nation, gotten this moral issue right. The reporter above, among others, cannot understand why terminating a pregnancy might be considered more than some ordinary choice.

Indeed, what does it mean to terminate a pregnancy? For an American who believes in the fundamental rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, it is not much of a stretch to say the right of life is being violated today.

Catholic co-host Sunny Hostin interjected, “Evangelicals would say ‘thou shall not kill’ and it applies to it.”
“I think ‘thou shall not kill’ cannot be used as the block because we allow wars all the time,” Goldberg said.
How clueless is our media today?
Furthermore, for those of us who believe in the sanctity of marriage (a covenantal relationship) and family, it is not much of a stretch to claim that gay marriage is damaging the family and our nation. For those who want their family name and tradition passed down, it is not much of a stretch to decry neutering children, the declining birth rate, and the declining marriage rate.
Trends promoting abortion along with our own sexual proclivities and diminishment of the importance of children and sacrifice for others, leave America facing a demographic winter. We have an increasingly older and declining population, the inverse of the Malthusian view that was going to bring humanity’s demise long ago.

The report also analyzed the total US fertility rate, which estimates how many babies a hypothetical group of 1,000 women would have over their lifetime based on actual birth rates. For a generation to exactly replace itself, this number must be at or above 2.1.
According to the CDC, this rate has generally been “below replacement” since 1971 and has consistently been below replacement since 2007. Today, the US total fertility rate sits at 1.6 – another record low.
This demographic trend is worldwide now. The world’s three most populous countries, India, China, and the USA account for forty percent of the world’s population, but have birth rates below replacement levels, 2.0, 1.2, and 1.6 respectively. Only two of the ten most populous countries (Pakistan and Nigeria) have birth rates above replacement level.
The bible’s steadfast insistence on not condoning sexual immorality is also a problem for the reporter above. Yet, the bible’s wisdom never grows old. This passage written thousands of years ago seems fitting for times like today.
Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts* for the mutual degradation of their bodies. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. This language is indeed direct and harsh, but is it extreme? We are to worship God, not our own bodies. We are not to promote sexual immorality because it leads to the corruption of so many innocent people. Our sexual passions, especially the passion of males, must be curbed and properly harnessed by women; when females indiscriminately encourage such passions by selling their bodies, selling their images, submitting to multiple partners, and not demanding better from men, the entire culture suffers. The bible and the Church today simply say men and women should follow their natural (and distinct) biological roles. Also, men and women are not the same, and quit pretending they are.
But How Does My Sexual Orientation Harm You?
The counter is to call the Church puritanical and out-of-touch with the culture. No, the Church is being sensible. The Church acknowledges sexual activity is natural and healthy, but tells us not to define ourselves by our sexual orientation; we are much more than that. Defining ourselves by sexual orientation will eventually fail. In your seniority, what do you have left to cling to? What defines you then? What is your legacy? Furthermore, sex should not be an idol; it should not be a job, a hobby, or an obsession. There should not be industries, many illegal, centered around sex. The problem is not that the Church is repressing sex; the problem is our culture is obsessed with sexual activity and cannot understand why boundaries must be placed upon on our sexual desires.
Take God and religion out of the mix and be practical. Too often sex is aligned with money, power, or our own pleasure at the expense of others. How is it good that one person benefits from (or receives pleasure from) a sexual activity while another is harmed by the exact same act? The family, the domestic church, is the proper outlet for sexual activity. When sex is bound to love, benefit abounds to both people. When children are born within a family and loved and cared for by two parents willing to sacrifice for the good of their children, they all benefit. Our culture benefit as well; children from these families are far more likely to become productive and creative members of society, to contribute to social security, to help others less fortunate, and so much more. Compare children raised by thruples (three adults in a sexual relationship) or drag queens with traditional families.
When sex is aligned in such a way that people cannot even procreate (sure, pretend transgender folks can procreate as normally as anyone else) or when folks are so obsessed with sex as an end to itself rather than a means for procreating and transferring their own love, experience, and knowledge to others, then we are in trouble. We have lost the purpose of sex and perverted into something it was not intended for.
As President Biden said, the LGBTQ deserve the same rights as everyone else–but then they have always had the same rights. In the past, the LGBTQ have indeed been persecuted by others and have been afraid to admit their proclivities, but they are not hated, certainly not by Christians today. Today’s progressives don’t understand the meaning of hatred. They equate discipline, tough love, simply saying “no” with hatred. It is a juvenile notion. They also view tolerance as a supreme value, but they confuse tolerance with love. The LGBTQ belong in the Church, but they must also understand sinful behavior is not to be promoted, self-sacrifice (not pride) is valued, and that their own versions of reality need to continually tested.

“Regarding gender theory, whose scientific coherence is the subject of considerable debate among experts, the Church recalls that human life in all its dimensions, both physical and spiritual, is a gift from God,” the document states. “This gift is to be accepted with gratitude and placed at the service of the good. Desiring a personal self-determination, as gender theory prescribes, apart from this fundamental truth that human life is a gift, amounts to a concession to the age-old temptation to make oneself God, entering into competition with the true God of love revealed to us in the Gospel.”
This logic is incomprehensible for those seeking only to expand their coalition of the maligned and oppressed. President Obama built this coalition in 2008, starting with single women, racial minorities, and youth. President Obama was officially opposed to gay marriage during his first term, but he changed his stance in 2012 in attempt to expand his coalition. Democrats have catered to every LGBTQ demand ever since. The increasing number of Gen Z youth joining the LGBTQ fad only helps Democrats political chances. So, they promote the mantra: if it feels good and if it suits you, well it must be good. This is no way to run a railroad. Return to Christian values, and we will all, LGBTQ folks, religious folks, and America as a whole be better off for it.

A Remarkable Admission
Dr. Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist by trade, is well known for his criticism of creationism. He is outspoken in support of atheism and has written books such as God Delusion. Still, earlier this month, he defined himself as a “cultural Christian”.
“I do think that we are a culturally Christian country, I call myself a cultural Christian. I’m not a believer, but there is a distinction between being a believing Christian and being a cultural Christian. I love hymns and Christmas carols. I sort of feel at home in the Christian ethos. I feel that we are a Christian country,”
“I think it would matter, certainly if we substituted any other religion, that would be truly dreadful.”
Dr. Dawkins recognizes the value of Christian ideals and their positive influence on Western culture, although he fails to understand there is no sense following the wisdom of men determining God’s laws. Dr. Dawkins wants the trappings of Christianity without God. He wants Jesus the philosopher without his divinity. He is clearly intelligent, but his notion of religion makes no sense to believers. Christians do not follow Jesus the philosopher. The twelve apostles and subsequent martyrs did not die for a wise man.
Either the bible and its strictures on homosexuality and sexual immorality in general are the word of God or they mean nothing. The word still has tremendous sway despite repeated efforts to persecute its adherents and to end its influence (which continue today). It has not been purged because it is from God. The Pharisee Gamaliel determined the correct strategy thousands of years ago, but today’s wise progressives and atheists still haven’t figured it out. Progressives should consider Gamaliel’s advice.
But a Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up, ordered the men to be put outside for a short time, and said to them, “Fellow Israelites, be careful what you are about to do to these men. Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing.
