Since COVID vaccines rolled out in 2021, there have been questions about their efficacy and safety. The public was assured they were indeed effective and safe; however, public debate was stifled and anyone questioning vaccination policy or raising concerns was said to be spreading misinformation or labeled a dangerous vaccine denier. all-roads-lead-to-the-vaccine-but-mother-nature-leads-us-out-instead

One-channel media ignored an increase in cardiac events in young, healthy high school, college, and professional athletes VSAFE-Rising-Excess-Deaths-and- Athletes-Collapsing. The goal was to avoid introducing any public doubt. Government “experts” pretended we were all scared and wanted only to be directed and re-assured by them.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed an increase in disabilities among U.S. workers beginning in early 2021, coincidental with the start of vaccine distribution. Nothing to see here?

Only when one-channel media’s own reputation was on the line were random acts of real journalism seen from them.

Vaccines should have been one tool in the healthcare toolbox, but public officials put all eggs in the vaccine basket. Medications which had effectively treated numerous ailments for many years, suddenly became dangerous or ineffective. Ivermectin, a COVID treatment for many clinicians, was labeled “horse medicine” despite being a Noble Prize winning drug and on the WHO’s list of 300 most effective drugs for humans. Hydroxychloroquine was also deemed ineffective against COVID despite early support among highly credentialed medical personnel like Dr. Didier Rauolt, one many called the world’s foremost microbiologist https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/12/magazine/didier-raoult-hydroxychloroquine.html. America’s FrontLine doctors and many other clinicians touted HCQ as well. These doctors were treated as renegades. The more they touted HCQ, the more we heard how dangerous this drug had become (despite an unparalleled safety record before 2020). A woman attempted to murder her husband with fish tank cleaner supposedly containing HCQ. Media said she was so desperate to protect her husband from COVID and had been misled by irresponsible medical professionals touting HCQ. They insisted the debate over treatments stop before more would unnecessarily die. It was utter nonsense
The public was told masks and lockdowns were effective despite widespread evidence they had no impact. Doctor’s and hospitals provided patients the flimsiest paper masks (probably the cheapest they could buy). Microbes easily slipped through sizeable gaps, wide enough for a finger. Children’s masks worn at school became microbe factories https://townhall.com/tipsheet/scottmorefield/2021/06/15/a-group-of-parents-sent-their-kids-face-masks-to-a-lab-for-analysis-heres-what-they-found-n2591047. Yet, Dr. Fauci repeatedly insisted on wearing any mask, or possibly even two masks to-mask-or-not-to-mask-that-is-the-question

Public health agencies failed to adequately explain this important distinction to the American public in favor of a broad mask recommendation that did not make nearly enough distinction between the types of masks available and put at risk those it sought to help. Well-financed federal agencies chose to fill the discourse with flawed observational and laboratory studies, hiding behind their conclusion of ‘no equipoise’ to avoid the potential embarrassment of the public health advice they championed being invalidated by evidence.

Public health officials and lapdog one-channel media, attacked anyone with alternatives to government COVID policy. Critics were censored, had medical licenses and jobs threatened, or were publicly shamed. Questioning vaccine efficacy or safety was not countenanced. Vaccines, we were told, must move forward for the sake of all humanity. Vaccines were the solution and other treatments should not be considered. Time was of the essence; there was no time for studies, debate, and deliberations.
My employer was poised to fire thousands of employees who had not been vaccinated. Some employees vaccinated out of fear for their jobs while others refused. Public health officials forgot about “informed consent” from their patients. Government and corporate executives conformed to the mandate for fear of losing their own jobs to-my-employer-and-joe-biden-I-still-won’t-comply
What happened to studying all sides of critical issues? What happened to trusting folks to make reasonable decisions regarding their own care given all the facts? Why did it seem private interests (e.g. Pfizer and Moderna), were given priority over public health?

Although public health officials tried to suspend the scientific process, there was an active debate among various medical professionals and organizations regarding COVID policy. There were consequences for resisting the new orthodoxy, but many highly credentialed doctors, scientists, and media were went on a limb to inform those of us who had lost trust of government public health officials in this matter.
Justice Will Prevail?

Four years later, there has been no serious reckoning for these travesties. A reckoning does not mean punishing officials for errors in judgment. However, government officials lied repeatedly. They were negligent in protecting public health. Their arrogance was astounding: they thought the Americans had no role in their own health care; they demanded we follow their prescriptions and never question their authority or wisdom. They forgot the medical primary directive: “First do no harm”. They looked away as vaccine trials identified potential problems and when vaccines began to fail wholesale; they pretended the serious consequences were imaginary. They led the coordinated attack on other medical personnel who highlighted their own failings.
The consequences are still with us. Dr Campbell recently featured an Australian clinician, Dr. Ian Brighthope (speaking to a conference in Perth, Australia) who warned of an impending cancer epidemic brought on by the vaccines themselves. The vaccine has been far worse than the disease itself: “the result: an unregulated growth and an increase in cancers that should have remained rare”

Sure, there have been Congressional hearings, grand juries have convened (a Florida grand jury’s final report is pending; the Kansas AG is suing Pfizer), and a few stalwart individuals are attempting to hold Big pharma financially accountable (lets-put-the-science-on-trial), but the big lie has not yet been fully exposed. The public is still largely unaware of problems because their trusted news sources provided cover for corrupt public health officials and misled their audience.

Key nominations by President Trump provide hope for change. Three appointees, in particular, can restore trust in public health and once again make public health the priority it is supposed to be.
Stanford’s Dr. Jay Bhattacharya has been nominated as National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director. Bhattacharya has been in the COVID fight (on the side of common sense) since the beginning. In 2020, he, along with two other doctors from Harvard and Oxford, drafted an alternative public policy labeled the Great Barrington Declaration Great Barrington Declaration (gbdeclaration.org). It was co-signed by fifty other medical professionals and accumulated nearly a million signatories. It was an easy-to-read document written by highly credentialed doctors from prestigious universities, an effective counter to the “do whatever it takes” policy advocated by Dr. Fauci.

Dr. Fauci and his boss, NIH Director Francis Collins, argued for lockdowns while the Great Barrington authors argued for “Focus Protection”, protection of those most vulnerable to the virus. Drs. Fauci and Collins, along with the CDC Director insisted children and young adults, those least impacted by COVID must be locked down, masked, and vaccinated the same as seniors. Common sense told parents the virus was less of a risk to our kids than the vaccine itself. Why vaccinate a healthy child for something posing virtually no risk while at the same time, downplaying injuries from the vaccine itself? Why keep kids out-of-school for so long? The Great Barrington Declaration validated our common sense concerns about drastic, all-encompassing government policies.

Throughout 2020, COVID spread despite debilitating lockdowns which Bhattacharya and colleagues said harmed individuals far more than the virus itself.

Former National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins has admitted that tunnel vision handicapped the development of public policy to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In October 2020, Dr. Collins and Dr. Fauci called Bhattacharya and the other Great Barrington authors “fringe epidemiologists”, although these fringe doctors have the more impressive credentials. https://www.wsj.com/articles/fauci-collins-emails-great-barrington-declaration-covid-pandemic-lockdown-11640129116

The knee-jerk response was to “take down” the paper, not to engage in a reasoned debate over opposing strategies. This note from Dr. Collins, which was revealed only by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request months later, exhibits as clearly as anything how debate was stifled unnecessarily. covid-vaccine-games

How ironic that Dr. Bhattacharya will replace Dr. Collins, the man who attacked him personally, the man whose work he was highly critical, often derisive, of. During an interview with Steve Deace 47:56 Bhattacharya offered his unvarnished thoughts.
It went badly, badly wrong . . . What we did during this pandemic failed so badly . . . failed policy response . . . insane guidance that had nothing to do with the reality of the scientific literature.
The pandemic was launched as a misguided idea– Utopian idea–that we can go into the wild places, find every single pathogen, predict which ones are going to make the jump, and then stockpile vaccines, and all other treatments . . . They go to the bat caves of China, bring the viruses into the lab . . . They do experiments in leaky labs, very dangerous experiments, that very likely caused the pandemic.

Dr. Bhattacharya did not mince words; he blamed Dr. Fauci personally for unleashing this virus and opening Pandora’s box. Once the pandemic was upon us, Dr. Fauci was intent on compelling all to vaccinate to save his reputation. His own reputation and legacy seemed to matter more than the science.
Dr. Bhattacharya also highlighted other actors protecting Dr. Fauci and his can’t-shoot-straight gang:
They engaged a lot of people in the pharmaceutical industry: deputized them to produce the vaccine, immunized them against any liability, and then promised them literally billions and billions of dollars.

Dr. Bhattacharya is the perfect nominee for NIH Director: a cogent, straight talking, sensible doctor who has the medical qualifications and earned his bona fides speaking out directly and forcefully against the most powerful man in America, the doctor who led the country astray for several years.
I once again have hope justice will finally prevail and sanity and logic will make a resurgence.
Another Perspective
I must emphasize there was a chorus of medical professionals who attempted to alter the nation’s public COVID policy. My pediatrician was outspoken throughout; he recently reflected on all this. He says he just wants things set right, and his voice is every bit as relevant as Dr. Bhattacharya’s and other nominees.
This is an apolitical essay. This is a child centric essay. They deserve change. My children and future grandchildren deserve change. We do not need any more of the same.
He says he is not anti-vax, but instead asks questions we should all want answered:
I am fielding lots of questions in the office about the safety of vaccines. People are scared. Are they wrong? Should they be? . . . I believe that the vaccine schedule and the risk should be questioned on a rolling basis in perpetuetum. This is the function of medical science. Question dogma always. Look for errors of past thinking and reassess on a continual basis.
I think that on the face of it, the skepticism is well placed as the organizations tasked with our safety have made a mess of being honest during the COVID pandemic vaccine rollout. The simple examples here are the mRNA vaccine timing between doses, the myocarditis risk with young men, making the vaccine mandatory when it was clear that it was neither preventing transmission nor illness in many individuals post vaccination. It clearly prevented death in many at high risk individuals, but that is vastly different than what was being said.
Paul Offit recently and correctly discussed the poorly stated beureaucratic decisions regarding natural immunity on Zdogg’s podcast. Dr. Fauci and Dr. Collins would not accept natural immunity as a proof of disease immunity. This would be akin to forcing a child to take the varicella vaccine after they already had chickenpox. Nonsensical.
He says they should have changed course after discovering school closures were harming kids:
Then there was the closing of schools for way too long causing undue harm to the children in underprivileged situations. We knew very early on that children were not the spread source.
He says government masking policy destroyed public trust even further:
Followed by masking children with zero evidence to the validity of its effect, risk of social and sensory dysregulation to these children in the preschool and elementary school age populations. These messaging mistakes about the covid pandemic vaccines and policies in total shattered trust in the government run health programs for many in this country and our clinic.
He acknowledges they flat out lied about treatments:
Think about Ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine for COVID during the pandemic. These drugs have been around for decades, used in children and adults safely and never questioned until someone decided to try them with COVID. Now they are dangerous and “horse” medicine.
Now, these drugs did not work as it turns out, however, that is not a reason to squash the trial of use during a pandemic when there were little to no other good options. There was no reason to demonize them and suppress providers from trying to help patients. They should have immediately been studied for efficacy and then say yes or no to efficacy and use. This is so logical.

The biggest question of all: why did our public health fail so badly during COVID? he asks if profits corrupted the whole medical system:
There is so much more that needs to be accounted for in the healthcare landscape that is not pro health, but instead pro money which invariably ends with more sickness and less health.
Pfizer, in particular, profited greatly after the vaccine was rolled out in 2021. For nearly two years, profits skyrocketed before returning to normal the last four quarters.
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/PFE/pfizer/gross-profit

Pfizer also has considerable pull within one-channel media as well, as this montage demonstrates: montage-showcases-ubiquitiousness-pfizer-sponsoring.
We shouldn’t take issue with Pfizer benefitting from the situation; there was a definite need and they had the ability to fill that need. However, something went badly wrong unconscionable-covid-policy. Did incentives cause them to take shortcuts and skimp on quality assurance?
Two Other Nominees
Dr. Marty Makary was nominated as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director. The FDA, also got its hands messy during the COVID era as objectors within FDA were silenced as well. https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/fda-officials-resign-covid/2021/09/01/id/1034608/
Two top Food and Drug Administration officials resigned Tuesday over the Biden administration’s announced plans to roll out COVID-19 booster shots before the agency had approved the inoculations, Politico reports.
Politico, which spoke to 11 current and former health officials, said the FDA “is facing a potential mutiny among its staff and outside vaccine advisers, several of whom feel cut out of key decisions and who view the plan to offer boosters to all adults as premature and unnecessary.”
One former senior FDA leader told Politico that Gruber and Krause were leaving because they felt that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had been making vaccine decisions that should have been left to the FDA.
Makary added his voice to the chorus of criticisms over Dr. Fauci’s nonsensical vaccination policies:
Makary also has criticized the agency for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically vaccination mandates for children and young adults. Still, he described himself in 2021 as “pro-vaccine” in an editorial published by US News.
Perhaps, Dr. Makary can re-establish an atmosphere of actual debate among medical professionals.
Dr. Makary is also concerned about food quality:
In a post on his website about his latest book, the surgeon derided “experts” who “demonized natural fat in foods, driving Americans to processed carbohydrates as obesity rates soared.”
Our pediatrician does not mention Dr. Makary’s nomination, but he commented on food safety as well:
Or look at the ridiculous messaging around the major risk factors for death, obesity, heart disease and diabetes. The root cause of these diseases is ultra-processed high fat and sugar laden foods that are mass produced for human consumption with governmental subsidy. There was not a peep from the federal government regarding the measures that could be taken for death risk reduction that are simple and safe, i.e. nutrition, toxin avoidance, sleep, exercise and stress reduction. They actively turned away from teaching an obvious confounder of death, ultra processed food. This is in effect suppressing the truth through withholding.

Robert F Kennedy Jr. is the third Trump nominee; he will be Health and Human Services (HHS) Director. Kennedy is a lawyer, not an MD, like the other two, but he too established credibility as an outspoken critic of vaccination policies, challenging Dr. Fauci when others in his party feared to speak out.
Kennedy is also a critic of fluorinated water, wants to crack down on food additives like corn syrup, and seeks better food standards. His motto has been to “Make America Healthy Again”, a laudable goal, at least.
Our pediatrician had much positive to say about Kennedy’s nomination:
Is this [Kennedy] a good choice? Apolitically, in my humble opinion, yes. Why? Because it is an opportunity for change from the current health policy trajectory regardless of the presiding administration over the past 20 years.
The primary function of DHHS is to educate and protect the population through public policy. One major problem in the US now is vaccine hesitancy. This is an issue that is worsening year over year. Thus, the antidote is more education and more study, not more dogma and “sit down and do it because we say so” mentality. And the study should be rigorously science based and not biased by vaccine makers and doctors that are biased toward vaccine use.
DHHS refuses to continually study the vaccine schedule and possible injury further leaving the population untrustworthy that was bad pre-covid and worse now.
Anyone that treats a child knows that med combinations are fraught with increased risk.
Common sense dictates that more study is logical at this point. Enter RFK Jr, an outspoken vaccine critic. Contrary to popular TV and print media claims, he is not anti vax and has stated so out loud. He is pro investigation, pro removal of the indemnity provided to vaccine makers and pro common sense. I agree in principle with all three.
Either way, parents would have scientific truth not funded by Pharma and unbiased as we have all sides represented in the argument . . . [there is a] desire by many in medicine and government to not see a study like this take shape. They cannot control the outcome and that is scary enough to squash it.
[Another] reason for a person to want change is the ridiculous revolving door of governmental employees tasked with regulating big Ag and big Pharma who immediately go to work for the same private entities that they regulated while in office. It is a massive conflict of interest. It 100% tells me that they are here to not protect my patients, only to make money.

. . . many compromised regulations that do not protect our children from ultra processed food in schools, marketing to children on TV and phones, and marketing drugs on TV and media in general. Or the subsidization of foods that keep ultra processed foods artificially cheap while healthy foods climb ever higher with inflation. RFK jr. wants a ban on these job placements for a number of years after leaving government.
Can President-elect Trump and his health care nominees end the oppressive suppression of voices and usher in real debate among medical professionals?
